Construction Crew Leader

As a Construction Crew Leader, you are integral to our goals of building more homes and better neighborhoods and communities throughout our service area. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with hands on construction tasks including, but not limited to, site prep, framing, roofing, finish carpentry, landscaping and clean up. Additionally, you will lead small groups of volunteers, providing them with on-site orientations and safety talks and ensuring that they are well-employed while on work sites. On occasion, you may participate in larger community projects or affiliate events.

Please Note: while construction experience is helpful, it is not required.

Website Content Specialist

As a Website Content Specialist, under the guidance of the Resource Development and Community Engagement teams, you will be assisting with our migration to a new website layout. You will be responsible for moving and editing pages within our WordPress website back-end, as well as developing a website enhancement and maintenance plan. Additionally, you may be tasked with working on and maintaining our project management software.

Homeowner Services Development Specialist

As a Family Services Development VISTA, you will create a management system for the Homeowner Services department to employ, as they provide support and guidance to the Homeowner and Condominium Associations which exist in our Habitat developments. Additionally, upon familiarization with the various associations, you will create training modules for new board members and annual inspections of each property to ensure maintenance of the land and buildings. As you will be responsible for the creation, implementation, documentation and sustainability of the Homeowner Associations Management system, you will be integral to the growth and viability of the affiliate moving forward.

Store Development Specialist

As a Habitat Store Development VISTA, you will build upon systems created by our previous VISTA member, which was the development, documentation and implementation of a plan to increase volunteer, in-kind and cash resources in both Habitat Stores. This will be accomplished by creating and/or enhancing volunteer programs, marketing plans, business systems and/or donations opportunities. More specifically, you will (1) develop, implement and document a volunteer recruitment, training, and retention program for the Habitat Stores, (2) develop, implement and document sustainable marketing and outreach strategies, and (3) research and implement best practices for standard Habitat Store operating policies and procedures.

Community Outreach Coordinator (hidden)

As a Community Outreach Coordinator, you will be critical in helping meet our goals through planning, coordination and implementation of projects in partnership with our target communities. Your primary responsibility will be to build relationships and partner with residents, local agencies, elected officials and community stakeholders to identify areas where housing and community development solutions can intersect. This will involve regularly attending local governance, community beautification, health and social service, and resident meetings. Additionally, you will identify improvement projects, such as community clean ups, community gardens and A Brush With Kindness (ABWK) projects, etc., and engage volunteers from the local community to support these projects. Furthermore, you will help build understanding of and support for our Neighborhood Revitalization (NR) program, in addition to developing and marketing new NR programs.

Community Outreach Specialist – Neighborhood Revitalization (hidden)

The Community Engagement Specialist (CES) will identify underserved communities and coordinate outreach, communication and recruitment activities. The CES will also interact and conduct recruitment and training activities with volunteer groups, as well as some build site responsibilities to support volunteer activities. The CES will network with community and veterans groups and jurisdictional leadership to develop relationships and coordinate revitalization activities. The CES will assist in some event planning, maintaining accurate communication records and volunteer recordings. The CES will participate in affiliate meetings and will be required to attend additional trainings on and off site. Additional service projects during days of National Service (MLK Jr Day) outside of their service site may be required.

Resource Development Specialist

As a Resource Development VISTA, you will develop, document and implement a plan for donor engagement, tracking, and recognition in order to increase the overall donor experience and donor buy-in to Habitat’s mission, ultimately allowing us to serve more families. More specifically, you will build upon the systems created by our previous Resource Development VISTA to expand our donor base and refine our processes even further. We (Habitat for Humanity of Seattle-King County) are committed to increasing funding through effective identification, solicitation, cultivation, and recognition of community partners. You will make this possible by developing and coordinating a strategy around how to increase financial and non-financial resources.
