Count Us In 2018

Friday January 26, 2018

Count Us In is an annual point in time count used to collect important data on how many people are experiencing homelessness and what their needs are in our community. This information is vital to informing the systems in place, in order to better address housing issues in our community.

Count us 2018 was hugely successful as the result of volunteer and community participation. Thank you to everyone who was involved. 2018 results will be released in the coming months, stay tuned!

Advocacy Day

Thursday, February 1

“The incredible process of our governmental system can seem long and at times extremely boring. However, if you ever get the chance to spend a day talking with advocates and lawmakers, I suggest trying it. It can be a powerful experience to see so many people that care so much for our families and the people that we serve. Housing and homelessness has a powerful voice in King County, and I feel lucky to be a part of it.”

Advocacy Postcards - Campaign Finished!

Thank you to everyone that participated in our Postcard Campaign! Throughout July – September, 560+ postcards were mailed to our Congress members with the help of Habitat supporters! Funding has been at great risk for the federal programs that support Habitat for Humanity and the families we serve. Over the past several months, it has been vital that members of Congress hear from as many Habitat advocates as possible about the importance of these programs! Thanks for helping us BUILD LOUDER together!

Thank you for Passing Prop 1: Veterans, Seniors & Human Services Levy (VSHSL)!

In 2016, 94% of all Habitat SKC repairs were performed on senior-occupied homes which promotes aging in place. Habitat repairs also include home modifications such as adding ramps and widening doorways to improve wheelchair accessibility.
