Interfaith Build Background
Over 50 faith communities have participated in Interfaith Builds with Habitat SKC since 2001. Every September/October, members of diverse faith communities gather on Habitat sites to practice building a better world together.
Initiated in response to 9/11 under the name “Together We Build,” dozens of Muslim, Jewish, Christian, and other faith groups have been coming together each year, overcoming the cultural divisions that rise in the wake of violence and hatred.
Interfaith builds on Habitat’s roots in a missional, racially integrated community in the deep South. From the beginning, Habitat has built together for a better world.
We need communities to build, prepare meals, facilitate learning at lunch, and join our closing Interfaith Prayer service.
The next Interfaith is in 2021, if you would like to organize a group, sign up as an individual, or have questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 206-866-6783.
Together we made a lot of progress in the fight to provide more affordable housing!
Thank you to everyone who joined us in Lake City and Renton in 2020 for fellowship and the hands-on work of Habitat for Humanity! Together with members of many faiths, we worked together to respond to our regional housing crisis.
Want to get involved in Interfaith Build 2021? There are many ways to join in fellowship for the hands-on work of Habitat for Humanity. Whether you’d like to volunteer, help raise funds for homes, prepare meals, or volunteer/suggest a speaker to share with the group–or all of the above, we look forward to having you join us.
