On September 2, nearly 20 well-wishers joined Habitat staff and Blueprint Capital to celebrate the groundbreaking of our brand-new eco-friendly Habitat neighborhood in the South Park neighborhood of Seattle. While not our usual “pomp and circumstance” ceremony in light of COVID restrictions, attendees did enjoy the opportunity to thank Habitat partner Blueprint Capital, whose help enabled us to purchase the land for our land trust.

The lot for the project previously housed one home, and when completed, will consist of 13 two-bedroom, 1.5 bath, 975 square feet units.
Blueprint has become an important partner of Habitat for Humanity Seattle–King County via the support and leadership of company co-founder Dan Duffus. Dan first worked with Habitat on the Lake City project, where he and company staff provided pro bono master planning, design, and project management. Blueprint now proactively works with Habitat CEO Brett D’Antonio and Director of Real Estate and Development Patrick Sullivan to identify, facilitate the purchase of and develop land parcels for Habitat projects.

“What Blueprint provides in the way of development and finance expertise, as well as connections to designers, architects, other developers, and City staff, cannot be overstated. We are now able to compete for land within city limits and build really incredible projects for our deserving families like never before.”
