Habitat Volunteers Workshop

Habitat SKKC is excited to launch the Habitat Volunteers Workshop, a new way for companies and community partners to connect, collaborate, and make a difference through volunteerism. Hosted in our climate-controlled warehouse in Kent, WA, this hands-on volunteer opportunity keeps your team warm and comfortable while making an impact this winter.

Built for Teams: Flexible, Fun, and Impactful

We can accommodate teams from 5 to 50+ volunteers and offer flexible scheduling with 2-hour, half-day, and full-day shifts. Participants can choose from a variety of fun and meaningful projects, including:

  • Building playhouses for children of Habitat homeowners (or to donate to a nonprofit of your choice)
  • Crafting planter boxes; and/or
  • Assembling furniture to sell in our Habitat Stores, which will ultimately boost sales and directly support affordable housing in our region.

What to Expect at the Workshop

Our newly renovated space offers everything you need for a comfortable, engaging volunteer day:

  • Plenty of parking
  • A welcoming group orientation and Habitat overview (our “Habi-Chat”)
  • Breakfast or lunch provided
  • Time and space for your team to connect and collaborate
  • Two indoor restrooms (no porta potties!)

Just like our construction site Volunteer Build Days, the Workshop offers two sponsorship levels—Classic and Premier—each designed to recognize your company’s support and enhance your employee engagement experience. The chart below outlines the benefits of each level.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Classic Build sponsorships for $3,000 - $9,000 for 10 to 50 volunteers vs. Premium Build sponsorships for $5,000 - $15,000 for 10 to 50 volunteers

Playhouse Build Program
This is a unique opportunity for teams to work together to construct and decorate children’s playhouses. A team of 3-5 volunteers typically completes a playhouse in 3-4 hours. Multiple sets can be completed at once.

Planter Box Build Program 
This program invites teams to build wooden planter boxes that will be donated to beautify our Habitat communities. A team of 15 volunteers typically completes a set of 3 planter boxes in 3-4 hours. Multiple sets can be completed at once.

Furniture Build Program
In this collaborative volunteer opportunity, your team will assemble furniture that will be sold in one of our three Habitat Stores in King County. A team of 2-3 volunteers typically completes one piece of furniture in about one hour. Multiple sets can be completed at once.
