Position Summary:
The Kittitas County Habitat for Humanity (KCHFH) Area Director is responsible for financial, operational, and administrative management of the area affiliate. The Area Director will enhance the profile of KCHFH through positive community relations among elected officials, donors, volunteers, business leaders, and the community. The role will include education and advocacy, community and resource development, volunteer coordination and marketing and publicity. The focus of this position will be to identify and deepen relationships with local officials, individuals, corporations, and organizations keen on serving communities within Kittitas County.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


⦁ Act as the chief administrator responsible for managing the day-to-day performance of the KCHFH office.
⦁ Build and maintain working relationships with the local leadership, staff, and community.
⦁ Ensure annual goals are met, assist with strategic planning, prepare reports on all program/project activity to Habitat SKC.
⦁ Develop resources, funding sources, and prepare proposals for a variety of organizations to provide funding for new or continuing operations, including fundraising and outreach efforts.
⦁ Develop an annual plan that incorporates a range of strategies, including engagement programs, special build days, and events.
⦁ Develop annual revenue goals, manage resources according to guidance and accountability, and approves operational expenditures for office.
⦁ Work closely with the local Kittitas County Construction Manager and Store Manager on the overall objectives of the annual plan.
⦁ Serve as an external spokesperson, maintaining regular communication with elected officials, donors, volunteers, community contacts, corporate sponsors, and prospects.
⦁ Strategically engages board members, Local Council members, leadership, and current donors in prospect identification, visits, and potential funding opportunities.
⦁ Steward existing donor relationships, create new relationships and build coalitions that will increase our ability to serve more families annually.
⦁ Develop grant applications, proposals, and reports throughout the year.
⦁ Oversee, mentor, and manage the staff in the local office. Complete regular performance reviews.
⦁ Coordinate and oversee local marketing, social media, web, and outreach efforts.
⦁ Develop compelling proposals, presentations, and reports.
⦁ Develop appropriate sponsorship benefits and recognition for corporate partners.

⦁ Demonstrate a disciplined use of CRM, Raiser’s Edge.
⦁ Oversee aspects of volunteer engagement throughout the year.
⦁ With the support of the Chief Development Officer, develop an annual strategic plan and calendar of events and mailings for Kittitas County Affiliate.

Qualifications and Position Requirements:
⦁ Bachelor’s Degree required; experience in non-profit management or other relevant management experience preferred.
⦁ Five years in relevant experience.
⦁ Demonstrated knowledge or training in grant programs, community development, and/or economic development initiatives.
⦁ Residential Construction and Real Estate. Has a basic understanding of residential construction practices so that they may be able to communicate with others.
⦁ Demonstrated budgeting experience or training with exposure to Federal and State grant financial reporting requirements.
⦁ Ability to synthesize thoughts/ideas between diverse collaborating agencies and translate into effective written and verbal communication with funding agencies, government officials, etc.
⦁ Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with the ability to make dynamic group presentations and conduct outreach and speaking engagements on behalf of Habitat.
⦁ Strong planning skills, including the ability to anticipate tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines, and function smoothly under strict deadlines and shifting priorities.
⦁ High-level computer literacy skills. Experience with donor databases, ideally Raiser’s Edge
⦁ Strong team player who also works well independently.
⦁ The capacity to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with donors, volunteers, Board of Directors, and staff.
⦁ Local knowledge of the Kittitas County philanthropic community.
⦁ Commitment to affordable housing and Habitat’s mission.
⦁ Ability to travel and attend trainings as identified by Habitat SKC.
⦁ Full-time, flexible hours. Some weekday evenings and weekends required.
