From Dream to Reality:
Advancing Equity in Homeownership
Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King & Kittitas Counties, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity International and The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change, are excited to welcome Dr. Bernice A. King, daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and CEO of The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change, academic and bestselling author Richard Rothstein, and Nicole Bascomb-Green of the Black Home Initiative, for a special event From Dream to Reality: Advancing Equity in Homeownership. The event, presented by Habitat’s Home is the Key campaign, will include a panel discussion centered on affordable housing.

Happening on the eve of the Fair Housing Act anniversary, this event dives into the history of housing discrimination and the fight to make homeownership accessible to all.
Big news will be unveiled! Habitat SKKC leadership and Dr. Bernice A. King will reveal the name of Habitat SKKC’s largest-ever single-building development—the biggest multi-family Habitat project in the country. Slated for completion in Spring 2028, this milestone project will provide 58 local families with the stability and opportunity that homeownership brings.
Guiding the conversation is Natosha Reid Rice, Habitat for Humanity International’s Vice President of Housing Opportunities & Mission Engagement.
Be part of this moment—watch live! This event will be livestreamed for the public, offering a chance to hear from leading voices on the future of housing equity.
