A special thank you to Seattle Seahawks Head Coach Mike Macdonald for sharing inspiring reflections on leadership, teamwork, and community, and to the Habitat homeowners who courageously shared their stories and reminded us all of the transformational impact of a safe, stable home.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, the 2026 Beyond the Build Luncheon raised $2.2 million (and counting!) to support affordable homeownership opportunities across King and Kittitas counties.

Every dollar raised helps families build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.

What is the Beyond the Build Luncheon?

Each spring, Habitat for Humanity Seattle–King & Kittitas Counties brings together community leaders, partners, and supporters for the Beyond the Build Luncheon, our largest annual fundraising event dedicated to advancing affordable housing in our region.

The luncheon is an opportunity to celebrate the impact of affordable homeownership, hear directly from Habitat families, and rally our community around the work still ahead.

Through the generosity of attendees, sponsors, and supporters, Beyond the Build helps create more opportunities for families to access safe, stable, and affordable homes.

Fort Lawton Redevelopment Public Comment Session

Seattle stands at a crossroads. After years of planning, the City of Seattle and its partners will transform Fort Lawton, a former military site, into a vibrant community, creating permanently affordable homes for up to 500 families while protecting 22 acres of public park land and green space. Veterans, seniors, and families will gain affordable housing, with real pathways to homeownership that build generational wealth, stability, and opportunity. However, Fort Lawton needs your voice at a crucial upcoming public comment session.

The City of Seattle is hosting a public comment session on the Fort Lawton Redevelopment Plan where you can share your thoughts and feedback with city representatives. We need you to show up and tell the City of Seattle that you support this project. Consider sharing your personal connection to housing affordability or reflect on the importance of creating homeownership opportunities for families who have been systematically excluded.

A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to support favorite causes. It’s like a charitable savings account.

Finding decent, safe, affordable housing is not easy for King county families. For Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King County, finding affordable land to build on is one of our greatest challenges.

Land acquisition is a costly piece of the home building process. A top priority of Habitat is to identify and secure land for future projects.

When you donate land or property to Habitat for Humanity you are apart of the solution to fighting poverty here in Seattle-King County. Enjoy the peace of mind that comes with philanthropic giving and securing a meaningful tax donation* while freeing yourself from a financially hindering property holding.

You can help in the following ways:

• Make a tax-deductible donation of a vacant lot to be turned into a forever home
• Make a partial donation of land. That is – you make a tax-deductible donation of land, and Habitat pays a percentage of the value of the land.
• Donate a house in need of renovation. Habitat considers donations or purchase of homes that need renovation.
• Partner with Habitat on a “mixed-income” development, which blends market-rate and Habitat homes.
• Tell friends and associates that Habitat acquires vacant land and houses.

All types of real estate donations are greatly appreciated, including vacant lots/land, developed property, homes in need of repair, condemned sites, and commercial/retail/warehouse properties.
