More than 75,000 customers shopped at Habitat Stores during our 2019 fiscal year — up 71% from the year before. That drove a 55% increase in revenues, much of it due to the opening of our third store in Auburn, which opened in July 2018.
Another bonus: the addition of a fourth truck to our donation pickup fleet, boosting our 2019 pick-ups to more than 11,000 items, an increase of almost 60%.
Proceeds from the new or gently-used items we sell at our stores provide critical funding to build and repair homes for low-income families in King County.
This is good for families and the environment, too. In all, donations of more than 478,000 new or gently-used home furnishings diverted 1,456 tons from landfills in fiscal 2019.
