Women Build Launches Tomorrow!

Women from across King County will come together starting tomorrow for Women Build Week to support Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King County. Given current COVID considerations, and to ensure volunteer safety, many will be participating via virtual events, with small teams onsite during the week at various Habitat projects. A team from Prime Electric, the event’s major sponsor, will be onsite at the Lake City site tomorrow for the first day of activities.

Men are also encouraged to raise or donate at least $150 to Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King County. After signing up at www.Habitatskc.org/WomenBuild, they may choose a date and location to volunteer Saturday through Saturday, October 3 through Saturday, October 10. People may register as individuals or build teams from among work colleagues, friends neighbors, faith communities and family members. (Youth under the age of 16 are unable to participate due to safety considerations Notable events planned that commemorate the occasion and build awareness of the need for affordable housing include:

Building with Beauty Queens (a group from Mrs. Washington America and friends), on Saturday, October 3 at 9:00am at La Fortuna – 17286 127th Ave SE Renton WA. Several local and international pageant winners are teaming up to build onsite at Habitat’s La Fortuna project in Renton. Participants include:Linda Hoffner – Mrs. Washington America 2020

Women Leading with Impact Panel – Building Resiliency and Determination on Wednesday, October 7 at 12:00pm
