Lake City Way Groundbreaking

Thank you to everyone who attended the groundbreaking ceremony for our newest development in the Lake City Way neighborhood of Seattle last Thursday! The new site will provide 16 families (over 66 people) with homes that will be within an easy 30-minute commute of downtown Seattle. The development will give families a place to call home, as well as providing them the long term financial stability and equity building that homeownership offers.

Habitat for Humanity ground breaking

Thanks to all of you, this project is made possible with the partnership of our elected officials, the City of Seattle, future homeowners, donors, corporations, foundations, and the faith community.  We also want to acknowledge the local volunteers that will collectively invest thousands of hours to get this project off the ground.  Special thanks to our speakers, Deputy Mayor David Moseley; Kate Baumgartner, Seattle Outreach Director, Sen. Patty Murray’s Office; Anne Fiske Zuniga, Deputy Director, Seattle Housing Authority; Dwight Prevo, Vice President, Wells Fargo and Demirew Takele, Habitat Family Partner.

We would also like to thank Emily Alvarado, the City of Seattle, the Office of Housing, the Washington Department of Commerce, Bank of America, KLB Construction, The Norcliffe Foundation, Nordstrom, and GMC-CMI for their support.
